We came into the room and it was dimly lit, with incense burning and music on. How lovely!!! Cindy started off by asking me to tell the story of Rama & Sita which was nice. It was nice to get back up in front of a class and I could feel it all coming back to me! It weirdly feels like a long time since I've talk RE!

We looked at some special objects we brought - I took the water jug from Padstow and Cindy started to create a wonderful 'murti' around me - 'Lady of the Water'! Waves around me, Toby dog at my feet, some RE objects in the background and a surfboard next to me!!! Hilarious! I can totally see how you could use this in a lesson with the children though!
We talked through some basics about Hinduism - the Trimurti and some of the gods.
We talked about planning - long term plan (LPT), medium and short.
We also touched about on the pros and cons of systematic vs thematic RE curriculum.
Cindy suggested we look on The School Run for key RE vocab and that could be stuck into the children's books.
Then we looked at Sikhism and focussed largely on Sewa. CIndy was keen to tell us that this is NOT charity, but something deep within each of us. There are lots of GREAT websites in the slides!!!!
